| Augsburg is a town of around 250,000 inhabitants about 70
km due west of Munich. It's home to 7 breweries, which isn't bad in this
day and age. This page has been assembled from information I have found in various places, mostly the web. It's really something to give beer travellers a place to start, should they find themselves in Augsburg one gloomy Tuesday night If anyone knows of a brewery tap for Brauerei S. | A corner pub with several traditional-style rooms (I had promised
myself to never use the t-word again). It goes the whole retro hog with
vaults, panelling and a beer garden. Formerly an outlet for Klosterbrauerei Andechs they now get their beer from Schloßbrauerei Kaltenberg, owned by the hypothetical heir to the Bavarian throne. Hence the "King of Bavaria" name. |
